Autumn Is Coming…

Anyone who has been in my craft room between classes, knows that I tend to have a project going on every table.  And then the night before a class, I spend a couple hours putting things away, getting distracted, putting a few more things away, getting distracted, putting …. well, you get the idea.  Tomorrow is Open Table Night, so I bargained with myself – clean my tables and I'd get to play at my table for a couple hours – that's the one (okay, two tables) in the lower right corner.

I spent part of today putting away the Summer Mini stamps and putting out the Holiday Mini things when I ran across a stamp set that I had resisted getting for a year, but then one day I saw a card that made me order it right then – Autumn Days.  When it came, I put it away and lost track of the inspiration.  So tonight, I put the stamps set together and surfed Splitcoast looking for inspiration.  I ran across two (among a lot of awesome cards!) that really struck a cord with me.  One was a Pinwheel Card with a demonstration video by Barb Mullikin and the other was a wreath card by Karin Menghini.  Here's my version of their beautiful cards:

It doesn't show up so well in the picture, but the wreath card base is Brushed Gold and the pinecones are heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.  I am really loving the new colors – Cherry Cobbler and Cajun Craze are definately favorites!

Hope you are inspired to create a little paper magic.  And if you'd like to work on some of your projects, join us tomorrow night, Sept. 2nd from 6 – 8:30 for Open Table Night – a no fees, no frills evening of paper crafting among friends!

Holiday Mini Swap

My Stampin' Up family, led by the ever-creative Trina, is having what is becoming a tradition  – a swap featuring a stamp set and coordinating paper from the latest mini-catalog – this one, the Holiday Mini Catalog,  goes in effect September 1st.  We used the Day of Gratitude Stamp Set and Autumn Spice Specialty Designer Series Paper

I found the luminary made from the Fancy Favor Die on the Stampin' Central web site.  Thought it was too cute for words!  Let me know what you think!

And if participating in swaps with other stampin' enthusiaists sounds like something you'd enjoy, contact me to learn how you could join in on all the fun.  And save money at the same time!
